Term egg

Term egg is a competent egg, that is capable of becoming a child once fertilized. It should not be confused with a “mature” egg, which many mistakenly equate with a competent egg.

There is overwhelming epidemiological and experimental evidence that a shorter menstrual cycle, which is the result of a shorter follicular phase, is associated with a lower chance of pregnancy.

We defined the term follicular phase in about 17 days since according to a major survey, this is the duration of the follicular phase at the age with the highest fecundity.

Term egg is the one, ovulated after about 17 days of natural or artificial (ovarian stimulation) follicular phase.
